Five killed as property is stolen in a banditry attack that happened in Lami village, west pokot.
According to the locals, the perpetrators, attacked the village on Wednesday night and managed to away with 19 goats.
Preliminary reports indicate that the attacked not satisfied with goats, shot six people who were asleep killing five of them on the spot, the sixth person, a woman, was seriously injured and is currently being tended to.
In a mission to try and get into the bottom of this attacks, West Pokot County Commissioner Apollo Okelo stated that a team of security officers has been dispatched to the neighbouring area of Kainuk to try and track down the bandits.
In the last seven months, More than 150 people including police officers have been killed in attacks linked to the bandits.
Over 200 assorted weapons have been recovered from the areas, as operation end banditry in the North rift continues.
