The second in command, DP Gachagua speaks on Ruto’s role in the Bipartisan talks, saying the president will not participate in the dialogue.
Speaking during the evening iftar they had with the Muslim society, hon. Rigathi Gachagua maintained that all talks will be held in parliament, unless there is any pressing issue.
He stated,”Let the politics be done in Parliament. The National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah is equal to the task and when they will need our help, we will intervene.”
He added that his boss, president William Ruto will be focused on reviving the economy as the talks go on.
He further highlighted that going forward, the government will not tolerate any destruction of property in the name of protests.
He stated,”The government will not allow anybody to destroy property. If they return to the streets as they are threatening, they will not be able to step into the CBD and business centres such as Eastleigh.”
Regarding the bipartisan talk, Kenya kwanza chose a committee of seven from both the senate and national assembly.
They include; Boni Khalwale (Kakamega Senator), George Murugara (MP Tharaka), Esther Okenyuri (Nominated Senator), Mwangi Mutuse (MP Kibwezi West), Lydia Haika (Women Rep Taita Taveta) and Hillary Sigei (Senator Bomet).
The opposition as well, chose a committee of seven, who will present Azimio la umoja grievances.
The legislators include; Nairobi Senator and ODM secretary general, Edwin Sifuna, Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua, MPs Otiende Amollo (Rarieda), David P’Kosing (Pokot South), Millie Odhiambo (Suba North) and Amina Mnyanzi (Malindi).
