Roads and transport CS Murkomen responds to JKIA shutdown and flight suspension, that happened this morning.
He stated that they are working with urgency to restore normal business.
He stated,”We are doing everything possible to remove the aircraft from the runway and to resume normal business. Thank you for your patience.”
Through a press release, Kenya Airports Authority stated that Jomo Kenyatta international Airport had shutdown its operations, because a cargo plane had experienced technical issues.
They wrote,”Jambo! We would like to confirm that the runway at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) has been temporarily closed due to an aborted takeoff by Cargo plane that developed technical issues this morning.”
They highlighted that their top priority is the safety of the passengers on board, hence they has to close down all incoming and outgoing aircraft until the problem is solved.
They stated,”Our top priority is the safety of all passengers and we are working closely with the relevant authorities to resolve this situation as quickly and safely as possible. As a result of the runway closure, all incoming and outgoing flights have been temporarily suspended.”
Theu further apologized for inconveniences caused being the JKIA is an international airport. They advised their clients to resort to other airlines meanwhile.
They stated,”We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. We advise all passengers to contact their respective airlines for further information on the status of their flight.”
