Any help for Mau Mau is not late- DP Gachagua to Kenyatta family.
The second in command, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua has urged the Kenyatta Family to continue returning the land that belonged to the people of the mountain and compensate the Mau Mau fighters.
This comes after the first ever first lady, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, made a noble effort to offset 4.7 million bank loan for Mau Mau veteran Field Marshall Muthomi Kirima.
He stated,”I am happy to see people yesterday say how they’ll help the Mau Mau fighters. Even though they have not been present for 63 years. They are not late, they should help us now.”
Gachagua pointed out that Kenyatta family grabbed all the land belonging to Mau Mau fighters for the last 63 years.
This made the people who put their lives in the line to fight for the independence and freedom, to be buried in cemetries because their land are Kenyattas’
Gachagua stated,”All we want is for them to part with at least 50 per cent of the land and give it to sons and daughters of Mau Mau fighters including myself.”
“They took all the land belonging to Mau Mau and nothing is being done on the land while the sons and daughters of Mau Mau fighters are being buried in public cemeteries,” he added.
The Deputy president offered to distribute the land to the deserving, citing that the Kenyatta family had a lot of idle land.
He stated,”Any help for Mau Mau is not late, we waited for 63 years and we are still waiting.”
