The judicial association seeks Ruto’s audience; This comes after a staff namely phoebe, was shot together with her motorcycle rider, while on their way to work.
Phoebe who was a court clerk at Migoro county, was confirmed dead by the Chief justice, Martha Koome who stated that speedy investigations on the case, have began.
Koome stated,”It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that one of our staff members Phoebe Auma Suda, a Senior Court Assistant at the Migori Law Courts was shot dead on Friday while on her way to work. Auma was riding as a pillion when a lone gunman also on a motorcycle shot her dead together with the motorcycle rider.”
The KMJA president, Derrick stated that they need to have a sit down with the president over the rampant killings that are happening to the Judicial staff.
He stated,”We have raised this with various authorities and nothing has been done and we shall soon be seeking an audience with the President,”
“This tragic incident comes at a time when the security for Magistrates, Kadhis, and Judicial staff is alarming, we have talked about this for a long time,” he added.
Derrick further highlighted if their security is not guaranteed, then the rest of the Kenyans are in danger too.
Derrick decried,” A magistrate resigned in the past over insecurity. In another case, member’s family members were attacked and killed. If the security of our members is not guaranteed, also the security of the public is not guaranteed.”
