Uproar as Uhuru Kenyatta is blocked from accessing Bomas for Jubilee’s NDC.
Uproar as Uhuru Kenyatta is blocked; The jubilee party is expected to hold its national delegates conference at the Bomas of Kenya.
However, they were blocked after they got information that the venue is closed for scheduled maintainence.
Netizens have taken it to their timeline to express this incident, based on the fact that the chair of the conference is the former president of Kenya, Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.
Alinur Mohammed expressed,” In the history of Kenya no regime has ever treated a former President like the way the Kenya Kwanza Government is treating H.E Uhuru Kenyatta. They lied to us they will not revenge. I am also shocked by Former President Uhuru Kenyatta. Is Bomas of Kenya, the only venue he can use to convene the Jubilee Party’s National Delegates Conference? I thought Uhuru is smart but he’s clueless. Why can’t he host the Jubilee Party’s NDC at his Northlands farm along the Eastern Bypass?“
David Mutai stated,”Uhuru Kenyatta brought problems to himself. Section 6 of the Presidential Retirements Benefits Act provides that “A retired president shall not hold office in any political party after ceasing to be President. Uhuru cannot have it both ways.”
This comes, after EALA MP, Kanini Kega on 2nd May suspended a notice issued by former president Uhuru Kenyatta to convene the meeting.
He stated,” The notice issued by the former party leader purporting to convene NDC on 22nd May 2023 is hereby suspended and the matter is referred to the internal resolution committee for further action.
