Azimio outlines more demands; Yesterday, The opposition held a meeting at Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka (SKM) Command Centre in Karen.
After the meeting, in a communique read by Opiyo Wandayi, they resolved a number of issues that have been making rounds in the political scene.
The members of parliament who were in attendance, came to an agreement that the finance bill drafted by President William Ruto is not meant for Kenyans.
Wandayi stated,”On the Finance Bill, our members have come to the conclusion that it has only bad news, worse news and the worst news.”
They outlined that it is a bill sponsored by people living in another planet and who doesn’t feel the lived realities of suffering Kenyans
On matters the Bipartisan Talks , Azimio has told President William Ruto that they have recognized the concession he made to have the talks resume with regards to answering Azimio’s prayer requests on IEBC Reconstitution, preservation of election servers for scrutiny, and the raid on Jubilee Party by unknown agents.
The opposition further advised president Ruto to withdraw the Finance Bill 2023, lower the current unbearable cost of living. They also urged all Jubilee Members of parliament who have defected to UDA to resign immediately.
Wandayi read,” Azimio MPs have resought to sign a public pledge to oppose the bill awaiting its withdrawal. Indeed other MPs apart from those in Azimio are equally prepared to do this.
“It is our resolution other than merely committing to not interfere with affairs of other parties, Kenya kwanza must agree that all jubilee MPs and any other MPs who have defected to Kenya kwanza, have to face by- elections in line with the constitution. Until all this is resolved, the joint bi- partisan talks remain suspended,” he added.
