We need peace and unity- Kikuyu elders plead for Raila to call off saba saba rally.
Speaking to the media, Kikuyu Council of Elders led by their national chairman Wachira Kiago, Pleaded that the opposition leader, should talk to president Ruto and find a way forward instead of a demonstration.
Kiago stated,”I’m humbly appealing to Raila Odinga and his team to stop the planned demonstrations and reach out to the government, we need peace and unity for the benefits of the country and our generations.”
Yesterday, At Kamukunji Grounds, Opposition leader Raila Odinga expressed that they are no longer interested in bipartisan talks.
However, this has raised a discussion all over social media.
The government critic wrote,”Luos are being profiled alot by this Kenya Kwanza bloggers, eti “being used by Raila Odinga” Luos should stay back during the Saba Saba Maandamano and let’s watch if there won’t be demos.
In fact, this time Kikuyus and Kalenjins will lead from the front.”
Lord Mutai wrote,”What Raila Odinga is doing now is simply to sabotage development of the Luo community in a mindless battle with the government – a battle he knows he cannot win. All the so called Azimio leaders around him have their communities in government. Only Luos are being told to fight.”
“Raila Odinga has no regard for a people who have backed him for decades. Rather than find a way to ensure they benefit from government, he is starting a battle he can’t win. In the end, he will push Luos away from government, to worse poverty and diseases,” he added.
