DCI commends their sportsmen and women; Taking it to their official social media page, The DCI expressed their happiness for the championship they received.
The statement;
The Director of Criminal Investigations Mr Mohamed Amin, has congratulated sportsmen and women drawn from the DCI for their outstanding performance, in recent local and international championships.
Mr Amin particularly hailed the team for flying the Directorate’s flag high in the recently concluded National Police Service athletics championship and also emerging position 3 out of the 16 teams that participated.
“May I on behalf of the Directorate congratulate you for your splendid performance, brought about by your hard work, resilience and patience,” said Mr Amin as he addressed the athletes.
While urging the team to continue embracing the spirit of sportsmanship, the DCI chief pledged the Directorate’s commitment to supporting the team in training and provision of key sporting gear, to enable the athletes train and compete better.
“The Directorate is extremely proud of your performance and we shall continue to support you, as you make us proud and bring glory to our country,” he added.
Among the athletes present during the breakfast meeting were the African record holder and 8th fastest man of all time in 100 metres, Ferdinand Omanyala and all African Championships silver medalist sprinter Maximila Imali, among other athletes.
Speaking on behalf of the athletes, Omanyala thanked the Director for supporting the team and exuded confidence to continue posting positive results in future competitions.
