New details emerge regarding Tom Osinde’s death.
The Decomposing body of ex-Treasury official Tom Osinde who went missing days ago found in river Kuja in Migori, police confirmed.
Reports indicate that the body was retrieved from the river on Thursday, June 22, and booked as a John Doe.
A postmortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the reports indicating that Osinde’s body was found mutilated, with a cut on the head, and his hands and legs tied.
Rongai Sub- county Investigations officer, Atieno revealed that two light switches at Osinde’s home in Ngata Estate, Nakuru County, had been tampered with.
The police are still investigating whether the switches located on the upper floor of the house within the 10-acre home, were interfered with before or after his disappearance.
The officer also reported that two of Osinde’s employees who were arrested, will be detained for 21 days at the Menengai Police Station.
Atieno stated,”The farm is over 10 acres and we combed through 7 acres and nothing substantive came up. What we noticed is that two switches in the house (upstairs) are interfered with but we are still investigating it. We have not discussed the same with the family.”
Notably, an employee who is the prime suspect in the alleged murder has confessed to having thrown the body of the former Treasury employee in River Gucha.
The area assistant chief, highlighted that the prime suspect took them to the spot where he dumped the body and pointed the exact same spot.
