Government to hold a fundraiser for Londiani Crash Victims.
In a press release, ministry of labour and social protect cabinet secretary, announced preparations by the Government to hold a fundraiser for Londiani Crash Victims on Tuesday.
She confirmed that tomorrow at the Londiani grounds, Kericho County, led by deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua, they will hold a memorial service for Londiani crash victims and a fundraiser for that matter.
She stated,”We looked at ways of helping the people of Londiani in the aftermath of the devastating road accident. We also discussed ways of addressing the matter to avoid future occurrence. As one of the National leaders from the county , I stand with the community of Londiani at this difficult time.”
“Tomorrow, at the Londiani grounds, led by the H.E the Deputy President, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua, there shall be a memorial and fundraiser for the victims of the Londiani accident,” she added.
She further highlighted that preparations are already underway, in-order to hold the event as the country still mourns the tragic Londiani crash.
She stated,”Last minute preparations are underway at the Londiani grounds for the Memorial service and Fundraiser for the Victims of the tragic Londiani accident. The service set for tomorrow morning will be attended by H.E the Deputy President, Hon Rigathi Gachagua. We assessed the grounds and took the opportunity to speak with the community.”
Kericho county governor, Mutai confirmed that 52 lives were lost on that fateful evening and Thirty-seven bodies out of the 52 people have been identified.
He stated,”Among the casualties, we have admitted 6 of them in our Kericho County Referral Hospital and Londiani Sub County Hospital, while one is in critical condition at Kericho County Referral Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.”
