Raila outlines three key changes to the Saba Saba Rally.
Raila outlines three key changes to the Saba Saba Rally; The opposition leader revealed that instead of the demonstrations being held only in Nairobi as earlier announced, the protests will be held in select towns across the country.
He stated,”Our Kamukunji meeting is on in Nairobi this Friday, as we had announced. But it is not just a Kamukunji in Nairobi, but a Kamukunji across the country. Where this third liberation will be launched.”
The Azimio la umoja leader also highlighted that the saba saba rally will be the start of a signature collection exercise aimed at rejecting the Kenya Kwanza regime led by President William Ruto.
Thirdly, Raila outlined that the rally will also be protesting the hike of matatu fares, which is expected to take effect on Wednesday, July 5.
He stated,”Let us proceed with bold determination that we are going to stick together. We are going to work together. Let us stay with this fight until the end.”
“Ruto is imposing taxes on us without our consent and making laws whose net effect is to make life increasingly difficult,” he added.
This comes days after the opposition leader stated that he is going to protest the laws that president Ruto has implemented.
He highlighted that the members of parliament can no longer be trusted since they have all been corrupted and can no longer protect Mwananchi.
Raila stated,”Tuliwaambia punda amechoka. Hawakutuskiza. Wamezidi kuwekelea mizigo punda mgongoni. Sasa wakati umefika punda sasa awapige mateke. Ruto haelewi, lakini tutamuonesha, tutamfunza. Tuanze Kazi”
