DP Gachagua explains why looters in Uhuru regime are yet to be arrested.
Speaking during a roundtable meeting with radio journalists in Kericho, DP Gachagua Explains why looters are yet to face the law.
He outlined that the Kenya Kwanza decided to leave those matters behind and focus on developing the country.
He stated,”You even saw that Ksh6 billion was taken and looted through the telkom deal. When we got into office, we resolved not to go after people because we did not have the time,”
When asked if President Ruto knew about the country’s financial crisis before taking over from the former President Uhuru Kenyatta, DP Gachagua candidly expressed that the situation was bad than they had initially anticipated.
He outlined that the government could not deliver some of the promises they had given Kenyans because treasury had no money.
He pointed fingers towards the opposition saying they withdrew all the money to push their campaigns during the election period.
He stated,”We knew that the things in government were not right but not to the level we found them. Sometimes you may expect to get even 10 bags of food in the store, but that was not the case. The money was used in campaigning for our opponents and other things that have no value to the country.”
He further beseeched Kenyans to be patient with president Ruto because he is going to deliver his manifesto.
DP Gachagua said,”We have worked for 10 months using the budget of the past government This new budget is ours and we should be judged by our plan and not of others.”
