Illegal firearm trader finally under custody- DCI.
The directorate of criminal investigations, DCI have reported that an Illegal firearm trader finally has been arrested.
This comes after the buyer turned out to be an undercover police, which led to the arrest of the man.
The statement read,
ILLEGAL FIREARM TRADER ARRESTED, UNREGISTERED RIFLE RECOVERED.Turkana-based detectives are holding a man found trading in firearms illegally within the sub-county.
Moses Lokisha, 24, landed in police net after a potential buyer of the AK47 rifle he was selling turned out to be an undercover officer.
The arrest followed a stealth operation launched by the area No Guns for Gangs operators, after several cases of armed robberies were received in the area.
Two accomplices of the main suspect managed to escape after sighting a backup squad of fellow detectives, but not without a chase.
Lokisha, however, was cornered and the firearm he intended to sell confiscated. He will appear in court Monday to answer to appropriate charges.
The DCI warns that no effort will be spared in dealing with cases of armed robberies, with perpetrators being met with an even greater force.
