Kenya kwanza allies push; Digital strategist, Dennis Itumbi, Shared a link, that seeks to collect signatures, that will be used to block Azimio principals ( Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Uhuru Kenyatta) from receiving their pension benefits.
In the link dubbed babatumechoka.com, anyone who supports the initiative , is expected to key in their ID Number, Name, Phone number, County, Constituency and Ward names before appending their signature and submitting.
By submitting your details, it means that you agree that Azimio la Umoja principals have been championing for destructive politics and causing violence in the country.
It read,”Having read and understood the intention of the promoters of this initiative, I hereby support the Citizens’ Initiative to stop the pension benefits of Mr Uhuru Kenyatta, Mr Raila Odinga and Mr Kalonzo Musyoka, as per law established, for their continued engagement in destructive politics, incitement and violence.”
According to the Presidential Retirement Benefits Act (2003), a retired president is entitled to receive a lump sum retirement package which is calculated as a sum equal to one year’s salary for each term served as President.
Which means, Former President Uhuru Kenyatta is entitled to be receiving a total of Ksh.1.15 million in monthly pension.
Additionally, he is entitled to a monthly entertainment and fuel allowance of Ksh.216,000 each and a house allowance of Ksh.331,200 per month.
Notably, in Retirement Benefits Act 2015, a retired Prime Minister and Vice President are entitled to a monthly pension equal to 80% of the monthly salary of the entitled person’s last monthly salary while in office.
