Amidst Wednesday demonstrations, President Ruto commissions Kericho Water Supply project, Ainamoi.
He was accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Kericho Governor Erick Mutai, National Assembly Majority Leader KIMANI ICHUNGWAH, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Kiambu Senator Karungo Thangwa, among other leaders.
He revealed that both governments are coming up with ways to boost and access safe water countrywide.
President Ruto stated,”Commissioned the Kimugu Water Project that will supply water to more than 200,000 households in Belgut, Kipkelion East and Ainamoi. Owing to this, National and County Governments are partnering to devise innovative ways to funding and management to boost access to adequate and clean water for all in the country.”
“Water demand has been rising as population surges, urbanisation grows and the needs from agriculture and manufacturing increase,” he added.
Notably, he addressed residents and traders of Kericho Town; urged the Opposition to show respect to the law by engaging in non-violent and non-destructive demonstrations.
On his part, Deputy president Rigathi stated that their only focus is development and delivering Kenya Kwanza’s bottom up agenda.
He stated,”Development is at the centre of the Kenya Kwanza Plan which President William Ruto is leading us to implement without fail as per our Promise to the people.
“This Project that will benefit more than 200, 000 households in the region is in line with our agenda of enhancing access and provision of clean water across the country,” he added.
