Raila’s bodyguard Maurice Ogeta released.
According to Orange Democratic Movement director of communication Philip Etale, Raila’s bodyguard Maurice Ogeta was released on Saturday at 1 Am.
This comes after he was in police custody for days now. Etale stated that he was driven to Ruai while blindfolded, and left in the dark.
He stated,”Maurice Ogeta, bodyguard of Raila Odingawas released from police custody a few minutes to 1:00am and driven while blindfolded and left in the middle of the road in Ruai towards Kangundo. His car is vandalized. However, he is happy to be alive but still distraught and in shock.”
His release came after Justice Lawrence Mugambi issued the ruling on Friday when the matter came up before him, declaring that he be presented before any court of law, in the country.
The justice also ruled that all responses on the matter be filed and served within three days after the order.
The ruling read,That, pending the hearing and determination of this application inter-parties, a writ of habeus corpus is hereby issued directing the 2nd Respondent to produce Maurice Ogeta before a court of competent jurisdiction in Nairobi or any other Court within the Republic of Kenya for an inquiry into the issue of his detention,”
“Leave is granted to the Petitioner/Applicant to file and serve any further documentation/replying affidavit if need be within three days,” read part of the ruling.
