Wetangula reiterates inclusive education with particular focus on the boychild
Speaking during a prayer day at Bungoma D.E.B Mixed Primary School in Kanduyi constituency, Bungoma County, National Assembly speaker vocalised that the boy child must not be forgotten.
The speaker expressed his concerns regarding the dwindling trend of the boy child within the realm of education.He called upon all education stakeholders to prioritise the boy child especially in education matters.
He stated,”Even in my church, Christ the King Catholic Church, I noticed that out of the 30 flower children who participate, 25 are girls. It is essential that we ensure the boy child receives the attention he deserves.”
“It is crucial that we ensure that the male students receive the dedicated attention that their educational development warrants. My admiration extends to the devoted teachers for their unwavering commitment and to the students, who exemplify the school’s motto of “Discipline and Hardwork,” and in turn, achieve commendable academic performance,” he added.
During the event, he responded to a plea for the expansion of the school’s facilities. In support of the school’s development, he raised Kshs. 10 Million to initiate the construction of an educational block for the institution.
He stated,”My emphasis has been on the pivotal significance of affording both students and teachers improved access to educational resources.”
Further, The speaker reaffirmed his commitment to the rejuvenation of the Nzoia Sugar Company.
He stated,”Notably, substantial progress has been achieved in addressing the company’s outstanding debts.”
He expressed his optimism regarding the economic renaissance that the industry is poised to experience once the supplementary budget allocation is secured.
Aware of the El Niño rains, He encouraged the nation to capitalize on the forthcoming short rains by embarking on the cultivation of short-season crops and advocating for government investments in water harvesting techniques.
