Dp Gachagua Launches The Akorino religious group’s Redeemer SACCO.
Speaking at Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County, The second in command Stated that People-centred financial systems are economic catalysts for stronger and resilient families, communities and societies.
He launched Akorino religious group’s Redeemer Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (SACCO) which he stated will increase access to loan facilities for the members-up to the grassroots.
DP Gachagua highlighted that It is a real Bottom-Up institution that will also promote the financial profile of the Church and independence.
He stated,”we reform and streamline cooperatives under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises & Cooperatives, strong SACCOs will be critical in driving our socio-economic Transformation Agenda as per the Kenya Kwanza Plan.”
“Religious organisations in Kenya are critical in spiritual nourishment of the people. It is commendable that they are also moving into economic empowerment of the faithful,” he added.
Notably, he thanked the Akorino Church and its leadership for conceiving the idea of the SACCO bringing it into fruition.
He stated,” It was a pleasure reuniting and sharing in prayer with the Akorino community. They are prayerful, truthful, focused and helpful.”
The deputy president revealed Kenya kwanza will continue supporting religious groups towards financial independence and other areas of need.
He stated,”We will also work with them closely in tackling socio-economic challenges like eradicating illicit alcohol and other substance abuse.”
