Ruto’s chief of staff hints at a possible Ruto- Raila deal.
Speaking during a Thanksgiving Service at St. Luke ACK Church Ndara Koluoch in Asembo, Siaya County, Felix Koskei hinted at a looming deal between Raila and President Ruto.
He stated Raila and Ruto had worked together in the past, and there’s a possibility to do so in the coming days.
He stated,” I do not want to talk much because of my position, but you already understand what I am saying.”
He cited president Ruto’s frequent visit to the nyanza region and the kind of projects he has started in the same region.
He stated,”You have seen the President visiting the region and holding a cabinet meeting in Kisumu. It is a sign that the government is getting closer to the region.”
During his visit in Homabay, President Ruto highlighted that he has supported Raila Odinga before, and he calls upon the Azimio la umoja leader to support him in 2027.
President Ruto stated,” I was Raila’s ardent supporter and I and others came together and we supported him but unfortunately we never got the presidency.I have voted for Baba and I am calling on him to support me in 2027.”
On his part, Raila stated that he would rather support Kalonzo, who has always been his ally irregardless.
He stated,”This man we have stood with him together since the KANU regime, we went ahead together to NDP, we went to NARC and even to ODM and we have stood with him twice.”
