President Ruto push for more investments in Kenya’s renewable energy as he held talks with Prince of Saudi Arabia.
Speaking At the King Abdul Aziz International Conference Centre in Riyadh, President Ruto held talks with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman.
The head of state revealed that the crown prince pledged to push for more investments in Kenya’s renewable energy.
Further, President Ruto highlighted that in as much as Africa is making progress, it is still faced by obstacles that keep it lagging behind.
He stated,”Africa has made progress in economic growth, regional cooperation and democratisation.
”However, these advancements continue to be threatened by insecurity, violence and terrorism. Kenya welcomes Saudi Arabia’s bold commitment to intervene and help tame conflicts in the region. This will go a long way in stabilising the continent,” he added.
President Ruto added that We can only grow, prosper and advance when we walk together with other countries across the globe to discover, navigate and expand new frontiers and markets.
Notably, President Ruto also met the Pepsi company, Chief Executive Officer for Africa, Middle East and South Asia, Eugene Willemsen.
They Discussed approaches to advancing farming in Kenya to increase production, including bringing an extra three million acres of our arable land into cultivation.
President Ruto stated,”Kenya is grateful to PepsiCo’s interest in setting up operation in Nairobi, a potential investment hub for Africa.
”The firm’s broadening of its portfolio will accelerate the exploitation of irrigation-fed agriculture, thereby expanding economic opportunities for millions of our youth,” he added.
