CS Kuria Launches ‘Jobo bila Connection’ portal.
Moses Kuria, Public Service and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary, has stated that his ministry will launch Jobo bila connection portal.
He explained that through this portal, Kenyan Youth will be able to apply and get jobs, without the notion of being connected to anyone in the ministry.
He stated,”In the public sector, we are going to lead from the front in being an equal opportunities employer. We will soon develop a portal for all Kenyans to apply for jobs in the public sector regardless of their background dubbed the Jobo Bila Connection initiative.”
“The youth unemployment matter should be a concern for all of us because we are not safe unless all of us are safe,” he added.
CS Kuria was speaking during the 27th Institute of Human Resource Management Annual conference.
Together with the Head of Public Service Hon. Felix Koskei, he revealed that they have agreed that his office will issue a mandatory requirement for all HR Officers in public service to be members of IHRM. He cited that This will go a long way in professionalising the Human Resource function in government.
In his address, CS Kuria addressed Youth unemployment.
He stated,”our country faces a great crisis of youth unemployment. 70% of our population comprises the youth who are hopeless due to unemployment. I appealed to the Human Resource professionals to give everybody an equal opportunity because ultimately, we are what we are because someone took a chance on us.”
Notably, he talked about Internship opportunities.
Kuria stated,”I appealed to the private sector to complement the government’s efforts in the provision of internship opportunities. This financial year the government plans to recruit 20,000 interns up from 3000 in the last financial year.”
”The government can’t resolve the youth unemployment issue alone so we are appealing to our private sector to partner with us in resolving this crisis. As H.E. President Dr. William Ruto committed, the government will issue incentives to organisations that will offer our youth internship opportunities,” he added
