Raila has to support me this time round- Kalonzo.
Speaking during a fundraiser at Kyua Catholic church in Yatta, Machakos County on Saturday, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka stated that he is ready to be the sixth president of Kenya.
He stated,”Our brother (Raila) spoke his mind and we are still walking together and we aren’t going back,”
“Raila has to support me this time round. During the 2022 polls, you told me to rally alone. Leaders came and told me to support Raila’s bid close to a week’s time to the ballot and I did exactly so and we are still together,” he added.
Kalonzo highlighted that national membership recruitment exercise has begun to strengthen wiper in terms of numbers.
He stated,”There is a new spirit from Kyua today, you are the majority. County governments of Machakos, Makueni and Kitui are of Wiper Democratic Movements complete with Governors and Speakers. You need to move with speed so that beginning of the New Year 2024 in God’s grace, you start registering Wiper members to ensure that all join the party,”
“The spirit of joining Wiper is the way I have seen here today. If you get to register members in Central Kenya, Rift Valley, Western, and Nyanza among other regions, we will make this a true movement for real change in this country. We are ready,” he added.
Notably, Kalonzo commended the church for standing by the truth during the hard times Kenya was facing.
He stated,” Iwant to thank the Catholic bishops. They stood for the truth. In fact, I’m now seeing the church being what it used to be during Ndingi Mwana Nzeki. When the situation got worse, he stood firm,”
“I see that my brother Bishop Martin Kivuva and the Episcopal team issued a strong statement in Nakuru as a Catholic Church. If we don’t speak the truth, the country can get into problems,” he added.
