KNEC Addresses Notice Announcing KCSE Release Date: Kenya National Examination Council has flagged the online publication that claimed Kenya certificate of Secondary Examination will be released between December 16th and 22nd.
The examination council highlighted that marking of the KCSE exams is still going on, and the results will be released when they are ready.
KNEC stated,”KNEC has made no such statement. Marking of KCSE is ongoing and the results will be released when they are ready.”
KNEC also flagged down the notice that stated that the exams marking of Kenya certificate of secondary examination, had already been completed.
In reference to the fake notice, the release of results would be led by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, assisted by officials from the Ministry of Education, Kenya National Examinations Council, Teachers Service Commission, and Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development.
This year, a total of 903,260 candidates sat for the 2023 KCSE exam, which ran from October 23, 2023, to November 24, 2023 and the exam was administered by a total of 234, 473 examiners.
Notably, Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) CEO, Dr David Njengere, welcomed guests from foreign examinations boards who are in Kenya this week to observe the processing of 2023 KCSE examination.
KNEC stated,”KNEC has received guests from Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, South Sudan, Zambia. and Eswatini who are members of the Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA). Dr Njengere is the current president of AEAA. He noted that Kenya is open to exchange of ideas and collaboration with other examinations boards across Africa to set common standards.”
