Kenyans have reacted to the News;
Government critic wrote,”Uhuru Kenyatta launched the ecitizen using Kenyans taxes and he never charged us. Thieves are now in power and now they are using the platform to swindle money from the impoverished Kenyans.”
Another netizen expressed,”If they can make Kshs 900 million in just 24 hours through ecitizen then it means in only one year the can clear the Eurobond. Then the other year clear the SGR loans. So why introduce raft of taxes on Kenyans? This Rutonomics is the worst in Kenya’s history.”
Mburuki wrote,”Now we are paying to access the gvmt services that were free at the eCitizen portal!wow! It should not be a shock to you; when you hear that the gvmt has gazetted a fee payable whenever one wants to report a crime at the police station.”
