Ni bora nibariki Jiwe- Another Bishop declares stance on Pope’s Same- sex unions.
Ni bora nibariki Jiwe- A Tanzanian bishop is the latest cleric from Africa to defy Pope Francis’ decision authorising blessings for same-sex couples.
Speaking today during the Christmas Mass, Vice Chairperson of the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) and Bishop of the Diocese of Geita, Flavian Kassala highlighted that will not bless same- sex marriages, citing that they go against the teachings of the bible.
This comes a day after Nairobi Archbishop Philip Anyolo also opposed the decision to allow Catholic priests bless same-sex couples.
He stated,”The word of God also strongly condemns such unions (Rom 1:24-27; 1 Car 6:10; 1 Tim 1:10). The African cultural traditions equally detest it as it is dearly against transmission of life,”
“It is for this reason that the Church excludes those living in irregular situations of marriage from full sacramental participation in the life of the Church,” he added.
