2024 School Calendar dates as Released by the Ministry of Education: The 2024 schedule for teachers’ training colleges and pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools was released by the Ministry of Education on Friday.
Schools will open on January 8th, After 13 weeks of teaching, the pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools will close on April 8, 2024.
They will however, get a three-day half-term break from February 29 to March 3, resume school until their three-week holiday from April 8–26 at the end of the term.
The second term will run for 14 weeks, starting on April 29 until August 2, followed by The June 20–23 half-break. Students will then have a three weeks holiday, from August 5 until August 25.
Thevlast term of the year, will run from August 26 to October 25. The December break that would last from October 28 to January 3, 2025
Students will sit for the October 28–31 Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams. Then the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will take place from November 4–22.
Notably, The teachers’ training colleges, will open for term one from January 8 to April 5, and then head for holidays from April 8-26.
Their Term two will open on April 29 and run until August 2, with the holidays scheduled for August 5-30.
The final term will run for 11 weeks from August 26 to November 8, followed by the long December holiday set for November 11 to January 3, 2025.
