Reactions Ignite as Gov’t Demolishes Former CS Amina Mohamed’s Mansion: The government on Tuesday brought down former Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed’s home in Kakamega County.
According to reports, the house that was located at Milimani estate, was demolished to give way for the construction of President William Ruto’s Affordable Housing project.
Speaking to the media, the caretaker of the house disclosed that the contingent entered the homestead through the fence before proceeding to demolish the house.
However, while addressing resident at Kakamega, the Governor highlighted that he is not part of the demolition activities.
He stated,”Regarding the ongoing demolitions of property in the Milimani area within Kakamega town, I wish to state that we were not part of those activities.”
The former regional commander also stated that this is an act of brutality against resident and Kenyans at large.
He stated,”This is a relic of colonialism that we must remove, and we will go to court to declare this so-called provincial administration unconstitutional. County commissioners have no powers to interfere with the governor. The so-called regional commissioners are illegal, and there are no regions in our government structure,”
“This is an act of brutality that has been meted against our people here in Kakamega. It is terrible that this should be happening under the administration of a government that came to power promising to be pro-people,” he added
