Breaking News: Sniper’s Murder: ODPP Prefers Murder Charges on Kawira Mwangaza’s Brother and one other suspect: In a statement to the press on Thursday evening, office of the director of public prosecution affirmed that they had received files from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for inquiry and advice regarding the case.
Consequently, The office upon scrutiny and analysis of the facts presented in the documents concluded that there was enough evidence to prosecute Vincent Murithi Kirimi alias Supuu oo Mioro and Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s brother, Murangiri Kenneth Guantai alias Tali.
The statement read,”The director of public prosecutions (DPP) is satisfied that there is sufficient evidence to sustain the charge of murder against Vincent Murithi Kirimi alias Supuu and Murangiri Kenneth Guantai alias Tali.”
ODPP also stated thatv the two suspects will be arraigned at the High Court in Kiambu for the offence at a later date.
Statement read,”It also filed a miscellaneous application against five other suspects which are pending at the Kibera Law Courts. The ODPP undertakes to prosecute the matter expeditiously, and shall upon completion of the investigations issue appropriate directions.”
This comes after Detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday, January 5, arrested Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza’s brother and five other suspects linked to the murder of Meru Blogger Daniel Muthiani alias Sniper.
The DCI cited that evidence indicated that Sniper got a call from the suspects, where he travelled from his home in Igembe South to Meru town to meet the suspects before he was reported missing and later found dead
