Rita Waeni Murder Case: DCI Recovers 5 Items After Arresting 2 New Suspects: On Monday, two new suspects were arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts. However, The Nigerian suspects were different from the one captured in the cctv cameras at Roysambu.
A DCI detective in a sworn affidavit revealed that the two suspects lived in Ndenderu, Kiambu County where they were arrested on Sunday. The duo lived close to where Waeni’s head was found dumped.
The detectives also told the court that the two were in the country illegally since their passports had expired. The man earlier arrested by police was attempting to escape using a fake passport.
Additionally, the suspect captured on CCTV had a light skin tone, which was the antithesis of the persons arraigned in court.
During the arrest, Detectives recovered a hatchet, butcher’s knife, three laptops, six mobile phones, a Kenyan national identity card, and 10 sim cards among other items.
The detective sought orders to detain the duo for eight days at the Kasarani Police Station as investigations go on.
