NEWS JUST IN: Kenya Confirms Cholera Outbreak Linked to Monkeys in China: In a communique from the Directorate of Public Communications, the government confirmed that over 172 individuals at the British Camp in Nanyuki, Laikipia County were affected by the outbreak in the past three months.
They explained that this has been caused by a unique parasite subtype, linked to farmed monkeys in China.
The statement read,”The British Army in Kenya has confirmed a severe diarrhoea outbreak. A unique parasite subtype, linked to farmed monkeys in China has been identified. This marks the largest outbreak reported by the army worldwide.”
Members of the public are advised to stay vigilant and practice utmost caution and hygiene.
They stated,”Stay informed, practice hygiene measures and seek immediate medical attention if symptomatic.”
The Health Ministry has however, not issued an official statement regarding the outbreak at the time of publishing this article.
