News Just in: Kenya Met Issues Advisory Over Rising Hot Temperatures: The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned of hot temperatures expected to be experienced in several counties across the country.
In an advisory released on Tuesday, the department outlined that temperatures particularly in Nairobi and its neighbouring counties of Central Kenya will rise to 31 degrees.
According to the schedule, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday will be the hottest days of the week with the maximum projected temperature.
Therefore, residents were advised to stay hydrated as they anticipate the hot temperatures.
Meanwhile, most nights are expected to be cold with temperatures going as low as 6 degrees.
Kenya Met stated, “This week, High average daytime temperatures above 30°C expected in various counties: Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale, Taita Taveta, Kajiado, Makueni, Kitui, Machakos, Nairobi, Kiambu, Embu, Laikipia, Baringo,”
“Make sure to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun’s rays during the hot days, and bundle up warmly for the cooler nights. Stay safe and enjoy the diverse weather patterns across Kenya!” read the advisory in part
Notably, Kenya Met Warned that People may experience headaches , heat rashes and other heat- related problems.
Kenya Met stated,” The expected high temperatures during the month in most parts of the country may lead to heat stress and heat-related discomforts. The public is therefore advised to hydrate appropriately and avoid working in the open, especially in the afternoons.”
