More Details Emerge as Video of MCA Paul Leshimpiro’s Last Request to Ruto Before Death Trends: New details have emerged regarding the late Angata Nanyekie Member of County Assembly (MCA) Paul Leshimpiro’s kind plea to President William Ruto three weeks before his death.
The legislator was shot dead by suspected bandits along Morijo-Baragoi Road in Samburu on Sunday morning.
On January 29, Leshimpiro spoke to the press asking the Head of State to take decisive action against the bandits who have been causing havoc on families in the region.
The MCA made the request in a firm tone of voice suggesting that the issue had continued to affect many households.
He stated,”This morning we were trying to call the security personnel because there was an issue. A second person is dead today when we are burying another one. Mr President, you do not have to wait any further. You need to take an action,”
“Do not suggest to us that you are less powerful than a bandit. Do not suggest to us that you are less armed than a bandit,” he added.
During that time, the bandits had stormed the home of the former Agriculture Principal Secretary Richard Lesiyampe where most residents keep their livestock citing that it is a much safer place.
The residents revealed that the bandits accessed the home after opening fire towards the house.
“They came and sprayed the house with about 20 bullets,” one resident said.
