MP Kimani Ichung’wah Heckled, Speech Cut Short as Kiambu Residents Defend Uhuru: Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah was forced to cut his speech short while addressing Limuru residents on Friday.
While speaking during the groundbreaking ceremonies for two markets, the Legislator was heckled by the residents immediately he started talking and criticizing uhuru
Ichung’wah pointed fingers at Uhuru and his family for allegedly bribing Members of the County Assembly (MCA) to insult him during public rallies.
The National Assembly Majority Leader accused Uhuru of working together with Governor Kimani Wamatangi and Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba to derail development in Kiambu.
Ichungwah stated, “I have told you that Kiambu will develop at the pace the people want, not the one Uhuru and Governor Kimani Wamatangi want.”
However, the locals were not amused by these remarks with a bulk of them asking the Majority Leader to stop attacking and blaming Uhuru.
The locals further asked him to stop blaming Uhuru for the government’s downsides. The residents questioned, “What do you have against Uhuru?”
Notably, the residents stated that the MP was among the leaders who have been attacking Uhuru for no tangible reason since he retired.
Some of the residents opined that Ichung’wah was using campaign tactics to defend the current government while blaming Uhuru’s regime.
He has also accused Uhuru of sponsoring plans to sabotage Ruto’s development projects.
His attempts to calm the crowd were futile as the locals accused him of lying. Ichung’wah’s microphone was reportedly turned off, giving the residents a chance to hurl insults at him.
The residents started chanting Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamantangi’s name, a leader whom Ichung’wah has openly opposed. While this was happening, the residents could be heard asking for chicks, which is among Wamatangi’s key projects to empower his constituents.
However, Ichung’wah tried to play down the situation.
“Do you want free healthcare or the chick?”
The residents unanimously answered they wanted the chicks.
Commenting on the matter on Saturday, Ichung’wah refuted claims that he has been eyeing the Kiambu Governor position and being at war with Wamatangi.
He also asked Wamatangi to stop using proxies to fight him and focus on delivering his promises to Kiambu residents.
He stated, “There is no day that I will answer those leaders that have been sent by the governor. If he wants to come and face me, let him come alone. I am not interested in that seat today or tomorrow,”
