Fire Breaks out at Lang’ata Women’s Prison: Panic has been witnessed at  Lang’ata Women’s Prison after a fire outbreak that occurred on Monday evening.

While confirming the incident, the Kenya Red Cross affirmed that efforts to extinguish the fire are currently underway.

Kenya red wrote,” A fire outbreak has been reported at Langata Women’s Prison in Nairobi. Efforts to extinguish the fire are currently underway.

According to statistics, Lang’ata women’s prison holds approximately 700 women convicts and more than 40 children under the age of four who live with their mothers inside the facility.

At the time of publishing this story, authorities were yet to disclose the extent of the damage and the cause of the fire.
