Twist as Father to Viral Witness Now Says They Never Bribed Kisii Deputy Governor 800K To Get A Job: A state of confusion engulfed the senate on Thursday Morning father to the witness who cried yesterday in senate claiming Kisii Deputy Governor Robert Monda took a bribe for a job offer confirmed that no such thing happened.
The father to witness, Dennis Mokaya, revealed that the money given to Deputy Governor Robert Monda was Ksh. 500,000 and not Ksh. 800,000 as his son had yesterday claimed.
His contrary story came a day after the son stood before the senate saying the he and his father allegedly paid a bribe of Ksh 800,000 to the Deputy Governor to influence the outcome of a job interview at the Gusii Water and Sanitation Company Limited (GWASCO).
Dennis, appeared before the senate to act as a witness in Robert Monda’s Impeachment Motion that was presented to senate by the Kisii MCAs.
His reveal made him break down before the senate while detailing how the ordeal caused immense suffering to the family including including selling of business assets which was run by his wife in Ruai.
However, on Deputy Governor Robert Monda’s part, his story aligns with the parent’s story where they claim that Mokaya’s parents were repaying a loan that was owed to the DG and not a bribe as it was claimed by the son.
The case comes after Kisii MCAs voted to impeach Deputy Governor Robert Monda over bribery and misconduct.
