Bomet Residents Storm Governor Barchok’s Office Moments After Ruto Tour: Residents of Bomet on Saturday evening stormed Governor Hillary Barchok’s, office to demand his resignation.
The angered residents stormed the county offices, gaining access, where they demanded that the Governor tender his resignation over what they termed as a lack of development in the County.
The residents however, did not find the governor prompting them to leave after a session of chanting and demanding the governor’s ouster.
This happened moments after Bomet residents Mercilessly heckled Barchok in the presence of president Ruto.
The heckling is said to be as a result of supremacy wars between the supporters of Governor Barchok and Senator, Hillary Sigei.
In President William Ruto’s development tour, the residents shouted down the Governor, denying him an opportunity to speak as he ascended to the podium.
It took the intervention of the President to calm down the residents. Ruto appeared irked by the heckling which has become prevalent in his rallies across all regions in Kenya.
He cautioned politicians against paying youths to interrupt their opponents in rallies. He further reminded the residents that they had elected the politicians and that it would be best that they vote them out during the elections seeing that they were responsible for them being in office in the first place.
“I don’t want this behaviour in meetings. You are the ones electing these leaders; the MCAs, MPs and even the governor. If someone is not working please wait for them during the elections. At the moment we are in a meeting,” stated the president.
