Gov’t Announces Reduction of Fuel Prices ahead of EPRA Review Today: The National Government on Sunday, April 14, revealed that the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) would reduce fuel prices that are expected to be announced later Today.
This announcement was made Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura who underscored that President William Ruto was keeping his longstanding promise to Kenyans to reduce the cost of living.
He stated, “A major announcement on the reduction of fuel prices shall be made today at 3:00 pm by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Agency (EPRA)! Truly, Kenya Kwanza led by President William Ruto is on delivering its promises,”
EPRA reviews retail fuel prices on the 14th day of every month.
On March 14, EPRA reduced Super Petrol prices by Ksh7.21. Diesel was reduced by Ksh5.09 and Kerosene by Ksh4.49.
Consequently , fuel prices in Nairobi are being sold at Ksh199.15, Ksh190.38 and Ksh188.74 for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene respectively.
The last time EPRA increased fuel prices was in October 2023, when petrol retailed at Ksh217.36 per litre, diesel at Ksh205.47 and kerosene at Ksh204.46 per litre in Nairobi
