Danstan Omari, Ombeta Withdraw from Echesa Case Day After Farouk Kibet Was Invoked: Lawyers Danstan Omari and Cliff Ombeta on Monday, April 15, announced that they would no longer represent former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa in trending extortion case.
Speaking to the media, Omari revealed that he would no longer be Echesa’s Lawyer in the case.
Omari stated, “Yes, it is true that is the position going forward.”
Omari However, did not reveal the reason they decided to withdraw. He further wrote to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations indicating his withdrawal
He wrote,”Kindly note that we are no longer acting for the above-named person. Any communication with regards to him should be directed to him or his representatives.”
The comes a day after Echesa accused President William Ruto’s personal aide Farouk Kibet of instigating his arrest.
He stated,”The person who helped Fernandes Barasa to have me arrested is my friend Farouk Kibet whom we campaigned together for President William Ruto,”
“I want to tell Farouk that he has been given a powerful position by the President and he should not use it to intimidate me,” he added.
