Bumula MP claims life in danger amidst push to impeach Agriculture CS Linturi: Legislator Wamboka has expressed that he has been receiving death threats, since he filed notice of impeachment against Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi.
The member of parliament has therefore urged the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula to move with speed and approve the motion.
He stated, “The CS must be impeached to restore sanity in the ministry and fast-track farmers compensation. The impeachment will cushion farmers from unscrupulous fertilizer business deals.”
“The motion is rooted in grave allegations of gross misconduct, violation of constitutional provisions and serious breach of public trust. The evidence presented before the assembly paints a distressing picture of negligence, mismanagement and potential of criminal activities within the ministry,” he added.
At the moment, the motion is being supported by a total of 110 members of parliament including Joyce Kamene (Machakos MP, Wiper), Raphael Wanjala (Budalangi, ODM), Pauline Lenguris (Samburu MP, UDA), Maryanne Kitany (Aldai, UDA), Adams Korir (Keiyo North, UDA), Otiende Amollo (Rarieda, ODM), Samuel Parashina (Kajiado South, ODM), Adagala Beatrice (Vihiga MP, ANC), Stephen Mogaka (West Mugirango, JP), and Clive Gisairo (Kitutu Masaba, ODM).
