Gunshots and Deaths Reported in Mathare Following Demolitions: Fracas Chaos ignites in Mathare North face 1 following the death of one resident in the ongoing demolition along the Mathare river.

According to reports, The man was killed by a bulldozer. However, The chaos further escalated resulting in the shooting of another victim, a young woman who is currently Nursing her injuries.

The ongoing demolition followed a directive From  Interior CS Kithure Kindiki who ordered evacuation Besides the 178 Dams and water reservoirs in 33 Counties

He stated,” As the rains persist to saturate soils, loosen rocks on steep hillsides and generate raging storm water, National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) countrywide under the supervision of the respective County Security Committees are continuously monitoring the situation to ensure that as many more temporary shelter points as necessary are established to accommodate affected persons,”

“Besides the 178 Dams and water reservoirs in 33 Counties where relocation and evacuation orders have been issued, County Security Committees are directed to continuously monitor other dams or water reservoirs within their respective jurisdictions which may not be presenting public safety risks at the moment but could do so in the event of more rains,” he added.
