Homes Completely Submerged, Rescue Operations Ongoing as River Daua Breaks Banks: The Kenya Red Cross on Sunday, May 12, revealed that River Daua had broken its banks displacing hundreds of families in Mandera County.
The flooding happened owing to The Heavy Rains that are currently ongoing at the Southern Ethiopia highlands
The most affected are residents residing in lower parts of the river at Mandera East County
Kenya red Cross stated,”The Kenya Red Cross has already registered the affected families to provide food and other essential items support in the coming days,”
Most of the homes in the region were submerged by the floods forcing emergency evacuation in the area.
At the time of publishing this article, Kenya Red Cross had already set up a camp at higher grounds where the residents have been able to converge and receive aid.
