Gov’t of Kenya Announces Massive Casual Jobs In UK: Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu on Wednesday, revealed over 1,000 Kenyans were being targeted in the program.
“In the last 6 months, over 400 Kenyan youth with qualifications in agriculture have taken up seasonal opportunities in the UK under this partnership,” Njogu revealed.
The casual workers are selected from various institutions in Kenya through a collaboration between the United Kingdom and the Youth Enterprise Development Fund.
The State Department of Diaspora Affairs had been welcomed to Staples Vegetables in the UK by the farm’s management and HOPS Labour Solutions Limited officials.
“The program involves Kenyan youths working on agricultural farms in the UK under the supervision of experts, and subsequently returning home to invest in similar local projects,” Youth Fund speaks of the program.
Eligibility Criteria
Interested applicants must have a valid passport with at least one year before expiry.
The job lasts six months and candidates must show willingness to come back after the project.
The Youth Fund and NYS while facilitating the application and placement process do not cater for passport, visa, ticket and any other logistics
Only Kenyans aged between 18 and 45 are eligible to apply.
How To Apply
It should be noted that Kenyan youth can apply to work in the United Kingdom through HOPS Labour Solutions Limited.
Being a government programme, individuals are not allowed to apply independently but should do so through the Youth Enterprise Development Fund.
The company states, “We recruit from Kenya however this recruitment is limited and is not open to any candidates.”
