The two camps in Nairobi are said to be led by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and James Gakuya, the Embakasi North MP whom are alleged to have clashed.
Sakaja is said to be demanding the voting to be conducted digitally while James Gakuya demands the process to be done manually through the ballot.
After Gachagua, President Ruto also issued directives to UDAs National Elections Board (NEB) Chairman Anthony Mwaura to cancel grassroots elections in Narok and West Pokot counties.
“Where the courts have issued orders stopping the election, we have to postpone. We must respect court orders,” Ruto said after disputes were filed in court for the two counties.
