Fresh Details Emerge on the Shooting Incident at Makadara Law Courts This Afternoon: A person reportedly fired shots inside one of the chambers at Makadara Law Courts.
Reports suggest that the gunman was the husband of the accused who allegedly opened fire on the magistrate after his wife’s bail was revoked for failing to attend court.
He was quickly neutralized by court orderlies. Incident took place inside Court Room 9.
Principal Magistrate Monica Kivuti is currently under medical care after sustaining a gunshot wound during a shootout at Makadara Law Courts.
She was targeted in the thigh following her delivery of a ruling in a case involving the wife of a senior police officer from Kericho County (later identified as the OCS Londiani) who had travelled to Nairobi for the hearing.
The court was sitting in a tent outside the main courtrooms due to lack of space and soon after the magistrate ruled on the matter, the police officer went behind the tent where he made an attempt on her life.
