Earth Tremors Reported in Maai Mahiu Months After Flash Floods: A scary incident happened in Maai Mahiu, Naivasha, after a series of earth tremors left residents running for safety Wednesday morning.
Some residents fled from their homes thinking another dam had burst as was the case two months ago.
According to a Resident identified aa Alex Mbuthia, the tremors were recorded at around 5am and 7am.
“Those who were affected by the dam tragedy talked of rumbling grounds and this time round people didn’t want to take chances and decided to flee from their homes,” he said.
On a separate incident, a tourist lost his life as several others were injured after a tour van collided with two trailers on the Naivasha-Maai Mahiu road.
The crash happened at midday near Governors’ Camp in Longonot town. Four tourists and the driver of the van were injured and rushed to Naivasha Subcounty Hospital.
According to witnessed, driver of the van lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a trailer, culminating to the death of the tourist and injuring several others.
