Gachagua Responds to Calls for His Resignation After Noordin Haji Ouster
Gachagua Responds to Calls for His Resignation After Noordin Haji Ouster: Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has maintained his loyalty for Kenya Kwanza government despite calls for his resignation.
The Deputy president was Speaking during an event in Murang’a County, where he affirmed that he was part of the current government and would not be forced out by anyone.
The DP was responding to calls from a section of Northern Kenya leaders, who have been pushing for his resignation following sentiments on NIS Director General Noordin Haji
Gachagua stated, “Please, come slow. They are telling us that we should leave this government. This is our government. From this region, we gave 47 per cent,”
“You cannot come and tell me how to do my job? My work is to be on the ground and advise the president. You come to join us, not replace us,” the DP added.
He added that he had to expose what was happening in government to help the President govern well and that lying was not among his traits.
“The way to advise the President is truthfully and honestly. The best way to lead is to also listen to Kenyans who are our employers. I am sure things will stabilise soon,” he added.
This comes leaders from the Northern and Coastal Kenya have accused the DP of targeting Haji.
“Gachagua has chosen to publicly prosecute national security issues in the public domain, degenerating into personal attacks against Noordin Haji. These unbecoming utterances go against the solemn oath that he took,” Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sherrif Nassir stated.
