Viral cop Who Was photographed holding “Reject Finance Bill” Placard Reported Missing: A lawyer has raised serious concerns over the well-being of his client Jackson Kihara also known as “Shakur the Cop” who reportedly went missing after participating in anti-finance bill protests.
The 25-year-old with a wife and young daughter daughter was photographed holding “Reject Finance Bill” placards during the protests that rocked Kenya last week.
Fearing for his safety the advocate filed an application for anticipatory bail for his client on Wednesday under a certificate of urgency but courts failed to act on the urgent application, with a court assistant informing the lawyer that no interim orders had been given.
The lawyer withdrew the application and refiled it in Kiambu where Justice Mshila granted anticipatory bail on Friday setting it at Ksh 100,000 for 30 days.
The relief was, however, short-lived as Kihara’s phones went off on Friday night and he has remained unreachable since then.
His lawyer suspects that he was likely abducted and is being held incommunicado based on threats made against Kihara by the persons suspected to be police since Monday.
Kihara had refused to resurface and record any statement with the authorities until a court order was obtained.
