Mombasa Hotel Kicks MP Farah Maalim out Over Gen Z Uproar: The management of a renowned luxury hotel in Mombasa revealed that Daadab Member of Parliament Farah Maalim was asked to leave the establishment following an uproar on social media.
According to the Managing Director, the MP was no longer being accomodatedbat the hotel as of Friday evening July 12.
The MD underscored that the hotel did not tolerate the remarks made by the legislator who is currently under investigations for hate speech.
The Hotel Stated,”He is no longer a guest at our hotel. We asked him to leave the hotel earlier in the day. We do not in any way condone his inflammatory and threatening statements against Kenyans and will not associate our brand with such a person,”
Consequently, after the MD made the statements on X (formerly Twitter), the hotel also reposted the statements on their official X handle.
Maalim is being investigated by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) after a video emerged on social media following the Gen Z protests.
However, the MP has distanced himself from the video claiming that it was edited.
He stated, “It’s all editing, cutting and pasting, taking a word from here, another one from here and putting it together. There is a lot of nonsense there. It’s Somalis basically who would do that because I weighed in on their politics. It’s not the true picture.”
