Bus Full of Students Overturns Along Major Highway: Several Students from Mbooni Girls High School were on Saturday rushed to hospital after they sustained injuries following a road accident along the Kikima-Machakos Highway.
The accident happened after the bus which was full of students and heading to Machakos town reportedly lost control and overturned along the highway.
At the time of publishing this article, a rescue team had already been dispatched to the scene and helped to evacuate the students who were trapped inside the wreckage.
Those injured were rushed to the Machakos and Kikima level 5 hospitals for treatment as rescue efforts are underway.
In pictures that are circulating online, The bus has been completely damaged on one of its sides and with pieces of glass strewn all over the highway.
However, the exact number of those injured is yet to be established, nonetheless, no deaths were reported from the accident.
The accident resulted in a huge traffic snarl-up along the steep highway. Meanwhile, the residents joined hands in the efforts to help the injured learners.
